Her most well-known work is her character Ashley Banks on the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. She began singing at the age of four. Her mother urged her to invite her to an audition with Sesame Street. As a 6-year-old, she began her acting career as a regular performer on the PBS children's show Sesame Street. She performed in many Broadway shows in New York City, including Fences (with James Earl Jones, later Billy Dee Williams) and Orfeo del Campo (off-Broadway). When she was seven, she was a contestant on Star Search and won twice getting a four-star score when she was on the show two times.
